Discovering the Best Activities for Japanese Travelers to Hawaii

As the world gradually recovers from the pandemic, travelers from Japan are starting to consider Hawaii as a potential destination. With the resumption of flights from All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, and the relaxation of border measures, Japanese visitors can now explore the many activities available in Hawaii. Hawaii has implemented strict COVID-19 travel requirements for pre-travel testing, and travelers must test negative for Covid within 72 hours of returning to Japan. Proof of a negative result in the polymerase chain reaction test is required before traveling, in addition to a mandatory examination of travelers upon entering Japan.

Foreign tourists who are not part of a group trip will also be able to visit Japan, as long as they book flights and accommodation through a travel agency. The Hawaiian authorities have asked the Japanese government to exempt travelers returning from Hawaii from the 14-day quarantine imposed by Japan on passengers. Hawaiian authorities have been working for months to create a “travel bubble” with Japan to relax travel restrictions between the two destinations, as a way to help tourism begin to recover safely after the 98.9% drop it suffered in May. Next week, the country will ease restrictions to increase the daily arrival limit to 50,000 and allow visitors to come on tour packages without a guide. If the program goes as planned, the first indications from airlines suggest that Hawaii could receive up to 690 Japanese visitors a day. Surveys conducted by companies suggest that travelers from Japan are eager to open a travel corridor with Hawaii. Hawaiian authorities have asked Japan to consider changing a health notice for traveling to Hawaii from level 3, which means reconsidering the trip, to level 1, which involves taking the usual precautions. Should the agreements between Japan and Hawaii move forward, there are plenty of activities available for Japanese visitors.

From exploring volcanoes and lush rainforests on the Big Island, to snorkeling in crystal clear waters on Maui or Kauai, or simply relaxing on Oahu's beaches, there is something for everyone in Hawaii. For those looking for an adventure, there are plenty of activities such as hiking, kayaking, surfing and more. For those looking for something more relaxed, there are plenty of cultural activities such as visiting museums or attending traditional luaus. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities in Hawaii's many markets and boutiques. Hawaii is an ideal destination for Japanese travelers looking for an unforgettable experience. With its stunning natural beauty and abundance of activities, it is no wonder why so many people are eager to visit this paradise.
